Foster an Animal

Fostering for CRU requires a significant time commitment. Our foster babies come to us the day they are born and require feedings every 3-4 hours around the clock for the first 4 weeks. Our puppies typically stay with us for a range of 8-12 weeks depending on their special needs and development. 

In Order to Foster You Must…

  • Fill out a foster application

  • Have a home visit

  • Be willing to learn how to tube feed

  • Be willing to transport fosters to approved vet hospitals for exams

  • Be willing to drive to pick up fosters and supplies

A Foster Must

 Be home all day

Feed the pet every 3 hours

Be comfortable managing medical needs and procedures for the puppies

Must be located within 20 miles of Rochester, NY and willing to drive in
